The Business Development Professional will provide leadership for overall federal sector business unit activities and efforts in DC area, based out of Crystal City office location. He/she will leverage existing contracts, develop new contract opportunities, leadership development of personnel and programs. Grow existing business, capabilities and services through strategic planning and execution. Expand and maintain the Company’s broad portfolio of client relationships. Develop and drive market strategies to identify new business opportunities. Assist with guiding opportunities through Company processes to deliver winning proposals, specifically providing business capture expertise. Contract performance and client satisfaction are paramount making deliverable quality also a major requirement. He/She will mentor other staff and managers relative to business development practices.
The qualified candidate will have a proven track record expanding business opportunities in a professional services, engineering, technical or similar consulting organization. As well as 10-15+ years of experience, proven leadership in DoD market sector, be highly experienced in business development, business capture, business pipeline development and management, and be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with technical professionals to perform market research, develop market plans, and identify relevant opportunities, client development/growth. He/She will have familiarity with contracting and requirements for DoD in particular, and demonstrated proficiency with military service/sector (i.e., Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines), experience and relationships with other federal agencies desirable (e.g., EPA, DHS, DOT, DOC, GSA, etc.), and familiarity and successful development of A&AS, R&D, Technical Assistance and other contracting environments. The successful individual will possess experience developing relationships such as teaming arrangements, the ability to develop relationships in the federal sector (private and public) is a requirement, and the ability to focus on and deliver business growth.

The selected applicant will have advanced degree (MS, MBA, PhD) or suitable equivalents preferred and degrees within the engineering, business, marketing, and general studies will be considered. This position will also consider equivalent level leaders (flag level officers, SES, senior GS, 0-5 or 0-6 level) from military or civil service also. The qualified candidate will have experience in Environment, Installations, Facilities, Safety and Health, Sustainability, Acquisition, Executive Order 13423 (Environment, Energy, Transportation), formerly Used Defense Sites, Sustainable Training Ranges, UXO, BRAC, NEPA, Environmental Management Systems, Weapon Systems and Platforms, PEOs/PMs, Air, Water, Wastewater, Compliance, Pollution Prevention, Sustainability, Climate Change, Greenhouse Gas Accounting/Monitoring/Mitigation, Carbon Management, Emerging Contaminants, Technology Dem/Val and Insertion, Program Management, Contractor Support, Staff Augmentation.
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
