CTC is looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to lead and participate in multiple power and energy projects in the Advance Energy Programs Directorate. The qualified candidate will have projects that involve the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated technology demonstration projects that include scalable power grids (Microgrids), advanced distribution system control and communications technologies, distributed and renewable energy systems, and energy storage.
The successful applicant’s responsibilities will include the ability to develop engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments associated with power and energy projects. Engineering support for integrating, installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment will also be required. The qualified candidate will also be responsible for data analysis, report writing, and presenting technical summaries of findings to peers.

The qualified applicant must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience, a minimum of 6 or more years of directly related experience with power systems. Leadership skills including the ability to work as a team member to maintain project timeliness, budgets, and deliver on commitments is a must. The selected individual must possess strong conceptualization ability, strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills are a must, including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers. He/She should have a CEM certification and experience with power distribution design including safety, equipment specifications, and control strategies. The individual must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment to solve problems and develop solutions. Army power and energy experience at forward operating bases is a plus. Some travel may be required.
