The selected candidate will lead a research, development, and engineering (RD&E) program with the objective to integrate innovative technology solutions into tactical and non-tactical ground vehicle systems. The candidate will maintain effective and regular communications with customers, senior CTC management, and employees to promote a cohesive team. He/she will be responsible for execution of programs to meet customer requirements and possess financial acumen to achieve financial objectives. The candidate will interact closely with the client and their PMO’s and POC’s, and internal project managers, subject matter experts, stakeholders and subcontractors to strengthen strategic partnerships and optimize technology transfer. This person will direct project meetings, set and manage program performance expectations by managing complex risks, issues and change management best practices.
The qualified candidate must have a BA/BS in Science/Engineering plus a minimum of 14 years of directly related experience as a Program Manager. The successful candidate will have previous military experience in fielding, maintaining, acquisition and development of tactical and non-tactical ground vehicles. The individual must have experience managing a full range of Program Management Best Practices to include:
• Senior level technical and cost performance reporting.
• Structured planning and baseline management processes.
• Program Management and Communications Plans.
• Six Sigma (or comparable structured continuous improvement methodology).
• Quality assurance and control.
In addition, the ideal candidate will have experience in fostering relationships within the worldwide auto industry, including parts suppliers, trade associations, regulators, and sources in closely allied industries. Military vehicle acquisition experience is a plus. The ideal successful candidate shall have direct experience with aspects of vehicle integration, vehicle power plant and driveline technology, vehicle structure and suspension systems, alternative fuels, vehicle condition-based maintenance, and Program Management.
