Project Manager Location Crystal City, VA Job Type Sciences Status Open     The qualified candidate will be responsible for Project Management and outreach for multi-million dollar programs supporting Department of Defense (DoD) safety initiatives. The selected applicant will support Defense Safety Oversight Council projects and team, including interface with the Government Technical Monitor Team, and coordination with DoD Service stakeholders, as well as working with internal team members including subcontractors. The selected applicant will manage large DoD safety tasks with broad scope. This position requires knowledge of and experience managing cost plus fixed fee tasks, as well as other contract types, understanding and experience with task order proposal process, project management, earned value management, subcontractor management, and task closeout. The candidate will have specific experience with enterprise / cost management system such as Cognos or similar for monthly forecasting and reconciliation. The qualified candidate will provide regular participation with other project managers and staff. Interface with government program personnel will also be required and he/she must be detail oriented and quality conscious as position is accountable for program metrics and overall program performance. The selected applicant will share responsibility for program outreach and information dissemination, and possess proven experience writing and reviewing subcontract statements of work and writing, editing and reviewing technical reports required. The successful individual must possess a Bachelor’s Degree and have 4-6 years experience in project management, preferably within DoD as a government contractor. Previous experience as a program manager required. Safety or technical focus desired. The selected applicant will be detail-oriented and performance oriented and self-motivated, have the ability to develop and provide a compelling information or decision brief to senior military and civilian personnel is required, and he/she must demonstrate understanding of principles of project management and proposal development and/or management and must be able to work in fast-paced and demanding environment, be a quick learner, and a multi-tasker.
