Concurrent Technologies Corporation has a career opportunity for a Senior Program Support / Data Analyst to support our work with the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness on-site at the Pentagon, working with the Defense Safety Oversight Council (DSOC) to ensure compliance in data use and management within the Defense Safety Enterprise System (DSES). We support this military government client in the development, demonstration, evaluation and implementation of the DSOC Workplace Mishap Reduction Initiatives to promote sustainability and enhance mission readiness across the Department of Defense (DoD). Specifically, we assist our government client with the development, demonstration and implementation of proven, cost effective safety and occupational and health tools, processes practices and technologies across the military departments to reduce preventable mishaps, promote sustainable practices and improve mission readiness. This effort directly supports the DoD's efforts to achieve the mishap reductions goals established by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. This Program uses a system named the Defense Safety Enterprise System (DSES) as well as numerous other data sources to capture and review data related to injury incidences occurring within the military, including civilians.
The qualified candidate will develop executive-level presentations and graphical representations of current DoD Safety programs. (These presentations are utilized in senior department leader presentations and executive forums such as the DSOC). Specifically, these presentations will provide baseline data, analysis, metrics and models, summary data tables, pie charts and graphs, examples to support the Office of the Secretary of Defense's initiative to reduce the DoD's mishap numbers and accidents rates within the 75% reduction goal(by FY 2008). He/She will assist in high-level and high visibility meeting planning and execution. Support may include providing technical expertise, planning and attending meetings, requesting and gathering technical information, analyzing data, summarizing and reporting information to individuals and groups. The successful individual will draft safety-related documents including congressional testimony, responses to press inquiries, memorandums, and prepare the Quarterly Secretary's Mishap Reduction Initiative Report delivered to the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense.
The selected applicant will calculate, prepare, and analyze safety mishap data, with focus on providing actionable recommendations based on the analysis; provide recommendations on Service Safety Center specific safety minimum Data elements; provide guidance for effective documentation and guides for DSES; and establish contact with data custodians within each Service Safety Center Agency and promotes the DSES system in government agencies. Utilize information garnered from data sources and analysis to develop compelling briefings (to a variety of target audiences) and validate and highlight specific areas of concern, such as private motor vehicle and military injuries. The successful individual will conduct internet research and interviews with VPP Team Members as needed, based on units or installations to be visited, and develop information papers required for trip books (visits to units and installations by Department leaders), as well as compile the agenda, travel itinerary, maps, read-aheads, and biographies of key individuals for the trip book. He/She will work with DSES end users and enterprise leaders to analyze and evaluate the quality of the accident data from a variety of sources, both data and reports and evaluate the quality of the DoD Safety Center data and reports assessments that are insufficient or lack justification. Prepare documents promoting the adoption of the DSES within the Department of Defense (DoD) and Service Safety Centers. Will work with DoD, Service Safety Centers and DSES stakeholders to develop DSES requirements as needed.

The qualified candidate will promote the use of the DSES to DoD Service Safety Centers and stake holders, identify opportunities for DoD-wide safety initiatives for DSES, work directly with the DoD Service Safety Centers to determine DSES requirements, and translate DSES requirements for review by OSD and the DSES configuration control board and provide overall programmatic support for the Under Secretary of Defense (Personnel and Readiness) chaired DSOC and its Task Forces.
The ideal applicant will possess a Bachelor of Science Degree plus 6-8 years experience required, demonstrated program support, data mining and analysis, writing, briefing, and Microsoft office skills required, Ability to work in fast paced environment both independently and in teams. Secret clearance required.
