Clearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: Top Secret Clearance


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, engineer, install, perform configuration management, document, maintain, and monitor Teleconferencing, network communication devices, and associated elements that support core network functions and services
  • Configuration and management of virtual local-area networks (VLANs), routing, and failover mechanisms
  • Configuration and management of firewall rules based on ports, protocols, and services
  • Management of IPv4 and IPv6 network address schemes and allocations
  • Management of network related DISA STIG activities
  • Provision of services for obtaining and troubleshooting various capacity leased lines and associated equipment used for interface into the Research, Development, Technical, and Engineering (RDT&E) network and NSWCCD’s detachment sites
  • Maintain and update circuit information to avoid inadvertent
  • Prepare circuit diagrams and update service agreements, where needed
  • This position is part of the CSWF, at the Journeyman Proficiency Level, and is in Category 40, Specialty Area 44 of the DON Cybersecurity Workforce Qualification Matrix of the SECNAV M-5239.2, Cyberspace Information Technology and Cybersecurity Workforce Management and Qualifications Manual (Jun 2016)


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with 6-8years related experience or a Master of Science degree with 4-6 years of experience or a PhD with 2-4 years of experience.
  • Potential candidates may have one of the following certifications: CISSP Certificate; CASP Certificate; EC-Council Network Security Administrator (ENSA) Certificate; or CNSSI/NSTISSI4115/4016 Certificate.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of networking experience, three (3) of which shall include experience with Cisco products in an Ethernet environment
  • Extensive knowledge of, and experience with, hardware and software products, in particular Cisco routers, Cisco switches, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) firewalls, and COMSEC equipment
  • Strong organizational, communication, and managerial skills
  • Ability to initiate and manage a project from inception to completion
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems, conducts research, and to learn and propose new technology solutions
  • Within six months from the hire date, candidates must obtain and maintain, a current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certificate
